Our impact
We’ve helped hundreds of charities to measure and understand their impact, supporting their efforts to be cost-effective and helping to direct more sector funding to interventions that work.
Our sector-level work helps to unleash more of civil society’s immense potential. Through our work on better data, on closer connections to government, on facilitating more giving and volunteering, and on infrastructure needs, we help improve the fundamentals of the social sector, with benefits for everyone.
We work upstream too. Time and again our evidence has been used to unlock government investment in the challenges that the UK’s charities deal with every day. From helping to secure £13.6mn of government grants for food banks to providing the evidence base for the establishment of a £560mn adult numeracy programme, PBE’s robust analysis is a catalyst for change.
Since 2010, we have supported over 754 charities and other purposeful organisations.
In 2025 alone, we supported 163 organisations, taking the number of social sector organisations we’ve delivered in our lifetime to 754. The charities that we have worked with rate their likelihood to recommend us at 9.3 out of 10.
