Dingley’s Promise is a dedicated charity committed to giving every child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) the best start in life. They provide specialist nursery provision, holiday playschemes, and family support, ensuring that each child receives individualised care and opportunities to engage and develop in a nurturing environment. Their beneficiaries are children under the age of five with SEND and their families, who benefit from high-quality training for early years professionals and the charity’s efforts to raise awareness of the challenges faced by these families.
What do we need from a volunteer?
The organisation would like volunteer support to understand the late diagnosis and intervention of children requiring SEND support.
The volunteer’s tasks would be to:
- Scope available dataset(s) and complete analysis (where possible) to include:
- number of SEND children supported local authority
- comparison of numbers supported by age group/school year group
- Report findings as a briefing or Excel dashboard:
- summarising findings
- highlighting key points
- The organisation would like to use the insights gained from this analysis understand the emerging need of SEND support post reception. Ultimately, this will help them to advise and provide support to the local authorities through their services where needed.
- The deliverable of this work would be a report or spreadsheet of findings.
The ideal volunteer:
- Ability to carry out desk research and data analysis
- Understanding of government or local authority data and how to access
- An understanding or experience with SEND data would be advantageous
- Analysis and communication of findings in briefing/report format
- Is based in the United Kingdom
- Has had their registration confirmed.
