What do we need from a volunteer?

The organisation has collected data on their programs and participants and are looking for volunteer expertise to analyse this data and produce key highlights and visualisations for their annual report. They also require a volunteer to establish a programme to continue to analyse and present this data in future years.

The organisation uses Bookwhen to collect data for its 12 programmes, covering approximately 8,000 participants in 2024. They record age range, postcode, first name, surname, and ethnicity.

The volunteer’s tasks would be to:

  • Develop an Excel template with visualisations to display weekly, annual and quarterly data, including trends on numbers of attendees by programme, postcode area and demographics
  • Provide documentation or training on using and maintaining the spreadsheet.
  • The automated spreadsheet and visualisations would be used for reporting to the organisations stakeholders on a regular basis including their Board of Trustees, funders and the Charity Commission.

    The ideal volunteer:

    • Will register with The Renewal Trust as a volunteer to access their data for analysis
    • Has experience in creating automation and visualisations in Excel
    • Can present information clearly for non-technical audiences
    • Is based in the United Kingdom

    What are the timescales?

    Starting: June 2025

Closing date for applications: June 16th

We anticipate this to be approximately 3-5 days over 1-2 months of volunteer work.

If you are selected to volunteer for this project:
